Getting BIG!!

Is this the cutest thing you've ever seen??!!!! This was after a round with a bowl of mashed potatoes and gravy. On the upside he did feed himself. Errrr.....sort of. I think most of it ended up in his lap and highchair.....and floor........and hair......and up the nose for good measure. He has finally reached the 20 pound mark. He has also figured out how to crawl (we think only because he needs to get somewhere to stand up). So the whole crawling thing has presented new challenges such as baby proofing the house. Gates, locks, and very soft padding. He's also gotten his first few bumps and bruises from the crawling.

Disneyland

Here we are again. It's been a while since I last posted but a lot was happening over the past few months. I finally finshed my fall semester which just about did Christa and me in. Back in November we decided to get away for a few days and go to Disneyland. It was a great time. We were able to go to the park for three days and enjoy a slow pace tempo. One cool thing that happened on our second day came when we were walking out of Toon Twon. There were two ladies handing out something. I just wanted to keep going but Christa wanted to see what they were handing out. So we walked over and picked up what they had. Evedently 2006 was a "Year of a Million Dreams" and they were giving all sorts of gifts away. What we actually ended up with was called a dream fast past. They were fast pass tags for all the more popular rides that did not have time restrictions on them like the regular fast passes. So even though the park was extreamly packed that day we were able to head from one ride to another. It was probably the funnest time I've had at Disneyland since we went there on our Honeymoon.This was also the first time that we had a chance to visit the new park California Adventures. They have a few cool rides and I guess it's getting better every year. One of our favorite rides was the Tower of terror. It's supposed to be an old hotel where a group was killed on an elevator. When you get on the ride you ride an elevator up a few floors where they talk about what happened there. Then you go a few floors up and they open the elevator doors. Only to find yourself above the Orange county skyline. Then it immeadiatly drops! What a rush! Christa's favorite ride was the rapids. I think it was because I always seemed to get soaked on it. All three times we rode it.We were also able to go to one of the more "fancy" restarants there that require that you have a reservation months in advance, but since they were having the Christmas day parade while we were there we were able to get a table. It was called Ariel's Grotto and they have all the Disney Princesses come around to your table to meet and greet. Christa's favorite princess? Belle. Because she likes to read books. Anyway we had a blast and the trip was over before we knew it. I guess we'll have to plan more time the next time we go. Which will probably be in another five years. Since that's how long it took us to get back from the last time we went.

Boys Road Trip

So my friends and I had this wild idea. Let's go see the Monday Night Football opening game between the Oakland Raiders and the San Diego Chargers. If anyone watched the game it was a complete waste. The Raiders (my favorite team in the world) were blown out of the water 27-0! Don't get me wrong. It was really cool being there but the game itself was terrible. Anyway, I decided not to post any pictures of the game but rather show some pictures of sight seeing the morning of the game when all seemed right in the world. We were able to go down to Fisherman's warf in San Francisco and go on a couple of tours. The USS Pampantino, an old WWII submarine ( I never want to join the navy after that tour), and an old wooden cargo ship used in the late 1800's ( I can't remember the name of the boat.) Anyway it was an enjoyable day just walking around the pier and seeing some of the sites.

I Love Horshoe Lake!

Here we are at the beautiful Horseshoe Lake in Idaho's Targhee Naional Forrest. Famous for it's sporadic rain storms, quarter size mosquito bites and good times. We just got to get away for the weekend Aug. 4-6. Malachi got to spend quality time with Grandma Thomson in Utah so Mom wouldn't worry about how he was going to stay dry/warm, not get bit by mosquitos, contract West Nile Virus, and make everyone mad with the constant colicky crying. It was a nice break! Plus the air matrees sprung a leak the first night and went flat an hour after bedtime. Let the good times roll! JDee's fun family reunion couldn't have been more fun! :)

Three Months Old

Wow!! This past three months seems to have flown by looking back. But then I remember how much sleep we really get every night and can't wait for a full night. The little guy is coming along fantasticly. We had a doctors appointment a couple weeks ago and found out that his weight is in the 70th precentile, his height is in the 75th percentile, and his head is in the 90th percentile of kids his age. I know! He has a huge head but you wouldn't be able to tell by looking straight at him. Anyway, I hope I'll be able to keep posting these blogs as he'll be crawling around everywhere and I'll be chasing him around. My best to all!!

Here I am trying to get back to my redneck roots. We went back to my home town this past weekend for the towns pridedays. My brother in-law entered the local snow mobile race. As you can see by the picture its not your normal snow mobile race. The race consisted of two racers at a time racing down the beach to the finish line. There were around 60 racers that day and he managed to get second place. It was the first time I've seen snow mobiles racing on water. Pretty cool! There were a few that didn't quite make it to the other side. And I think they were still looking for one of them the day after. Can we enter this for the redneck games?!

Here is a recent photo of our son taken at 4 weeks. He has been gradully adding the weight and is around 10 pounds now. Things have been very differnt in the Warren household over the past month. Sleep is almost non-exsistant and diaper changing has replaced the sleep time. Other than that he has been a joy to our family. We recently had the family to our house for the baby's blessing and we were able to go to the West Jordan park with them all. Malachi really enjoys the outdoors and I can't wait to take him camping and fishing when he gets old enough.

On April 28th 2006 we welcomed a new arrival to the Warren household. Malachi William Warren was born at 9:22 pm and weighed in at 6 pounds 10 ounces and measured 19 inches long.
